Miftah al-Huruf is published by Healthcare Consultant Solutions Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15615321), registered office Winton House, Stoke Road, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 2RW.
This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. It is short because the app does very little.
The app has no accounts, no sign-in and no registration. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or location, and there is no way for you to give them to us.
We do not use analytics. We do not use advertising. We do not use tracking pixels, cookies, advertising identifiers or any third-party SDK that profiles you. Nothing you do in the app is reported back to us.
We could not identify an individual user if we wanted to, because no information ever reaches us.
The app saves a small amount of information locally so it can remember where you are:
This is held in the app's own storage on your device. It is never uploaded, never transmitted and never seen by us. Deleting the app removes it permanently. We provide no backup or sync, so this information does not survive uninstalling.
Most of the app works entirely offline. The Arabic letter recordings, the fonts, the articulation diagram and the whole Qur'an text are bundled inside it.
Qur'an recitation is the exception. When you press play on an ayah, the app requests that recording from everyayah.com. As with any request to any website, this means everyayah.com receives your device's IP address and can see which recording was asked for. We have no control over their servers and no access to their logs. Their handling of that request is governed by their own practices, not ours.
If you never play a recitation, the app makes no network requests at all. You can prevent all outgoing connections by denying the app network access in your device settings; everything except recitation will continue to work.
The app is suitable for children and is intended partly for them. Because it collects no information whatsoever, it collects none from children either.
The app includes material used under licence, credited in full on the Credits screen inside the app. Those parties supplied content only. They receive no data about you.
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Any change affecting what the app collects will also be described in the release notes.
